Dean Job Opportunity In THSTI On Deputation/Direct Recruitment Basis
Eligibility Criteria:
For Direct Recruitment
i) Essential Qualification: PhD in Life Sciences or MD or MVSc. or M. Tech in Biotechnology/ Biomedical Engineering/ Biotech Pharmacology or relevant area from a recognised University with minimum 15 years relevant experience in responsible higher position in research/ teaching Institute/ University/ Industry with published research of highest standards and/or technologies of established utility.
ii) Desirable: At least two years' experience as a head of a department in a reputed academic or research institute or industry in related fields. Demonstrated ability to create new knowledge in the area of expertise or translate innovations to develop new processes or products and ability to network with national and global institutes and industries.
For Deputation:
Officials of the Central Govt./ State Govt./ Universities/ Public Sector Undertakings and Govt. funded research organisations/ institutes are eligible subject to fulfilment of the following conditions:
i. Holding analogous post or at least one year regular service in Level 15 or four years regular service in Level 14 of the Pay Matrix in the relevant field.
ii. Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment
iii. The other terms and conditions of deputation shall be governed by DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17'b June 2010 as amended/ revised from time to time.
Age limit and tenure of appointment:
i. Age limit for direct recruitment: 55 years as on the last date for receipt of application In exceptional cases, relaxation of age can be allowed at the discretion of the competent authority.
ii. There will be an initial probation period of one year which may be extended at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
iii. Age limit for deputation: 58 years as on the last date for receipt of application iv. The appointment will be on contract/deputation basis for a period of five years or till the age of 60, whichever is earlier. The tenure is extendable after review, as per the rules of the organisation.
Compensation:
i. The incumbent will be placed in Level 16 of the pay matrix with annual increment as per CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016. At the present rate, a Dean shall be entitled for about Rs.3,00,000/- as per the CCS (RP) Rules, 2016.
ii. In addition to the usual pay & allowances as admissible, the selected incumbent will be entitled to other benefits such as a semi - furnished on-campus housing, medical reimbursement, telephone expenses reimbursement, newspaper and magazine allowance, children education allowance, Leave Travel Concession, New Pension Scheme contribution etc. as per the Government of India rules and a chauffeur driven government car.
