The Role
The Design Engineer produces and reviews signalling design in accordance with company and international standards. AM Signalling Design Engineer will possess an IRSE Designer License 1.1.150C (or 1.1.110).
For This Role, You Will Have The Following Requirements –
- Minimum 4 to 5 years Signalling Design experience;
- An up to date signed off Design Log book;
- Signalling Design License (I.R.S.E);
- Experience using Micro-Station;
- Minimum HNC electrical design (or similar);
- Experience on Network Rail projects;
- Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you are Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or similar);
- Level Crossing design experience with a portfolio of previous projects worked on (to demonstrate);
- You will become part of an already successful and ever expanding in house Signalling Design team, undertaking the day to day responsibilities of a Signalling Designer including the use of Microstation software for production of design drawings and assisting the Design Manager.
Experience Required
The successful candidate will hold the following skills and experience:
- Be a qualified Engineer with significant experience as detailed below:
- Appropriate technical qualification or equivalent;
- In possession of an IRSE Designer License 1.1.150C (or 1.1.110);
- Technical/project experience in signalling design;
- Registration with the IRSE, ideally to member level;
- Extensive knowledge of NR or LU standards;
- Current Knowledge of signalling design processes;
- Good technical writing skills and good interpersonal communication skills;
- The post holder should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels in the spoken and written word;
- A good outward appearance, self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure are vital.
