Impact As a DevOps Specialist (Sr. Software Engineer),you will be part of our Innovation team that develops and operates mission critical client facing platforms with deep integration with enterprise back office systems. You will be involved in ensuring the availability of the Products and the infrastructure on which they are hosted.
The Job
This role is that of the DevOps owner, and you will own the entire CICD pipelines from development to QA to production, test and staging environments You will design and implement monitoring solutions using advanced tools like SumoLogic, AppDynamics, Splunk, Cloudwatch Execute technical dev-operations including Configuration Management, Monitoring, Automation, Network, Cloud, Security, Release Management, Reliability Engineering Support the operational environment that provides client facing applications and meets the requirements of service availability and recoverability Capture and reporting of application availability metrics
Development of automated application deployment scripts Work with Product Engineering, Management and Infrastructure team. Qualifications & Skills required
This is a critical innovation role requiring experience with complex datacenter and cloud hosting environments. Pitney Bowes platforms leverage multiple technologies in complex data center and cloud environments that support multi-tiered high-availability applications. The role requires a talented self-directed individual with a strong work ethic and the following skills: Must Have o Graduate or Postgraduate (preferably in computer science or related course) o 4-6 years relevant experience in Product/Application DevOps/SysOps o Excellent communication skills o Platforms – Linux and Windows o Extensive experience working on Cloud technology stack o K8S operational experience: kubctl, K9s, or other K8S management and runtime tools o Experience with monitoring tools such as SumoLogic, Prometheus, FluentD,
AppDynamics, Splunk, etc. o Experience with Amazon Web Services
(VPC, Subnets, Route tables, Virtual Gateway, Network ACLs, EC2, Elastic beanstalk, Elastic Container Service, Lambda, Security Groups, Cloudwatch, S3, Glacier, Route 53,Systems manager, Cloudformation or Terraform) o Strong CICD pipeline skills and automation skills and exposure
(Jenkins, GitLab Pipelines, and equivalents) o Strong scripting skills and software driven infrastructure o Experience in tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, DeployIT and configuration management o Hands-on experience with SQL & NoSQL databases o Good networking skills (Load Balancers, Firewalls, Clusters etc.) o Starting, stopping & recycling pods, scaling clusters, right sizing clusters, etc. Nice To have o AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional) or SysOps Administrator o Chat Ops experience (Hubot, Stackstorm, or other scripting strategies) o Experience and understanding of Authentication and Authorization (SSO),Ldap, RedHat IDP o Secrets management strategies, HashiCorp, Vault exposure.
