The Department of Atomic Energy is looking for a Director for the Institute
of Physics(IOP),Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Department of Atomic Energy, intends to appoint a suitable candidate for the post of Director of the Institute.
The candidate shall be between 45 and 55 years of age as on 31.03.2020.
EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA:The Person should be a PhD with first class or equivalent at preceding degree
in Physics. Eminent Scientist or a person with an outstanding record as well as impressive R&D track record in any of the fields of Physics shall be preferred. He has to guide and motivate a team of scientific/academic and other personnel of the Institute apart from being responsible for implementation of various research programmes by optimum utilization of available resources.
EXPERIENCE: Already in Analogous Pay Level – 15 or 05 Years’ of Experience in Pay Level 14 in Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC (i.e. one grade below the rank of HAG, (Professor or SO/H)) in managing a large scientific community in the execution of projects or heading a reputed scientific institution.He/ She should have an excellent publication record, experience of leading a group, national and international recognition etc. He/ She should have rich experience in project implementation with optimum utilization of resources. Apart from the above essential qualifications, the candidate is expected to be familiar with administrative and financial matters, preferably in Govt. Candidate with experience in Managerial capacity in a Research Laboratory shall be preferred. He/ She should have national/ international recognition (members of national/ international academies, prestigious national/ international awards etc.
