As part of the rapid and consistent growth the company has undergone over its first ten years since initial start-up, we are expanding our services and capabilities in Chennai across Moving Image, Print, Digital and Transcreation Production. Our Global Delivery Centre operation in Chennai is located in the prestigious DLF Cybercity campus, the largest operational IT SEZ in Southern India. The Chennai operation is a strategically important large-scale production hub that services all of our global hubs.

Responsibilities

The Role

Back-end Drupal Developers are expected to have a good working knowledge of Drupal site building and development. They will be responsible for site creation from specification to delivery, including creating content types with a clean interface, creating and updating components (paragraph-based entities/modules),developing custom modules, content migration and import, creating default content to support their development, providing content to the front-end in a renderable fashion, and managing their tickets and merge request in Jira and Gitlab.

All members of the development team are expected to be proactive in raising potential issues and improvements, to look beyond the specifications and deliver best practice and a great experience for our users.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities Include

• Analyse the project requirement, functional specifications and build appropriate solutions
• Build reusable code and libraries
• Ensure technical feasibility
• Optimise application for maximum speed, scalability and performance
• A quick learner with the ability to develop and deliver required technical knowledge
• Work cohesively with Project Managers, Technical Lead, development and QA teams to ensure deliverables are to time and quality
• Proactive in nature, identifying the risks, issues and improvement opportunities, and communicate through appropriate channels
• Directly responsible for the technical and creative quality of Hogarth’s Digital products
• Responsible for contributing to central pool of technical knowledge and sharing of best practices with other staff
• Staying abreast of digital methodologies and technologies in the industry, and ensure continuous learning and improvement of self
  

Requirements

Qualifications 

• Between 3 and 7 years of experience in a similar role with hands-on experience in Drupal 8 site development
  

Must Have

• Drupal 8 experience
• Confidence with Drupal site building
• Confidence working with configuration management
• Experience working with multisite
• Experience working with multilingual
• Knowledge of the Symphony API
• OO methodologies including dependency injection
• Experience in writing/managing custom/contrib modules
• Knowledge of working with fields - display modes and rendering
• Experience with CI/CD - Jenkins, Acquia BLT
• Experience with Docker/Vagrant
• Experience with web technologies: HTML5, CSS, SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON
• Strong understanding of Git version control
• Good communication skills, and interpersonal skills under demanding timescales and clients
