Describe the core responsibilities of the position…what might some daily activities be?

Partner with business analysts to review and understand business requirements, recommend EDI solutions and provide level of effort estimates for extensions or customizations to EDI process.

Translate Business Requirements into Technical Specifications.

Develop interfaces ensuring code is written according with documented software development processes and standards.

Perform systems maintenance to update records, specifications, and operating procedures of partner systems.

Provide day to day support including training to business users and customers to resolve issues related to EDI.

Creates, maintains and reports operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on items such as performance, service incidents and tickets set forth by the organization leadership. Identifies systemic problems that need holistic solutions and feedback into platform roadmap exercises.

Describe success in this position – the short and long term objectives the incumbent must achieve?

Analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, optimize, enhance and maintain EDI applications in various formats that include X12 standard formats such as 850 and 8870 and other regulatory formats using EDI mapping tools.

Create and maintain interfaces between applications systems and EDI transactions.

Apply in-depth knowledge of systems and business to the development of technical design for large complex processes and projects.

Evaluate requests for new and modifications to applications/programs/processes/maps.

Maintain detail documentation and process flow of all EDI processes.

What must the successful candidate know how to do…

1

Understand Oracle EBS R12, X12, GXS and other EDI mapping / integrations tools

2

Working with Web Services, ESB, SOA, distributed applications and interoperability and understanding of Web Service protocols such as SOAP and REST

Must have an experience with Oracle eCommerce Gateway and its integration to third party mapping systems

4

Good understanding of EDI best practices

5

Accustomed to working with aggressive project timelines

What competencies must the successful candidate have proficiency in?

Experience with Oracle eCommerce Gateway

EDI Programming with knowledge in Oracle XML Gateway/ Oracle ecommerce Gateway is a plus

Should be a self-starter, who shows a lot of initiative in problem solving and solutioning. Should be able to work unsupervised with should also be able to prioritize the deliverables without any external help. Should be flexible to adjust to fast changing environment

Strong analytical, excellent trouble shooting and programming skills.

Good oral and written communication skills. Promotes a cooperative and productive team environment.

The successful candidate should have achieved what type of results?  How many years of experience is required?

5 years’ experience using ANSI ASC X12 standards, EDIFACT standards, Mercator and Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) --- now known as Sterling Integrator (SI) software, OpenText GXS and Oracle eCommerce Gateway

Must have recent experience with EDI transactions including: EDI X12 810, 820, 850, 856, 864, 870

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent + 5 years of relevant experience

Must have an experience with Oracle eCommerce Gateway and its integration to third party mapping systems

Proven track record of using design patterns and best practices to serve business needs in an efficient manner so as to increase IT bandwidth for new functionality
