The Hitachi ABB Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi ABB Power Grid’s units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries.

Your Responsibilities

• Design preparing and reviewing of indoor and outdoor Electrical equipment layout for substations/powerplants/oil and gas.
• Design preparing and reviewing of indoor and outdoor cable routing which includes trench, cable tray/ladder and conduit routing.
• Preparation of cable list, cable sizing, interconnection schedule for LV power and control for HV/LV equipments.
• Preparation of Bill of quantities for cable trays, ladder, earthing and cable accessories.
• Experience in design and review of electrical equipments like protection panels, GIS, AIS, LVS, Battery charger, UPS etc.
• Experience in Design, preparation and review of sizing calculations like HV/LV cable, Battery charger, UPS, earthing, lighting & lightning.
• Experience in review of civil and electrical interface drawings for construction.

Your background

• A Bachelor degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-8 Years of experience with primary/secondary design engineering for substation/power plant.
• Software Knowledge of AutoCAD is a must.
• Working experience in Engineering Base is preferred.
• Should have good analytical and communication skills.
