Electrical Engineer/Designer

Minimum Requirements:

Working knowledge of electrical system analysis tools (E-TAP or SKM)
Experience working on projects that were executed using REVIT or a similar 3D BIM Product
EIT and ability to obtain professional engineer (PE) registration in the next two years
Experience with the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical power systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities including office tenant space, utilities and support facilities. This includes preparation of electrical system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, etc.
Experience with the design of lighting and lighting control systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities in accordance with energy code requirements (ASHRE 90.1) including familiarity with lighting calculations, occupancy control, and application of state of the art materials to projects.
Familiarity with the National Electric Code
AutoCAD and REVIT experience
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ plus of experience in buildings and facilities engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Job Summary:

Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
