Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Absorb and improve the detailed code and logic of the R.Pi controller - controller centralizes 6 sensors and automates ground screw installation by cutting off a hydraulic motor using a remotely actuated solenoid. 5 sensors have been integrated via UART, RS232, Bluetooth, Wifi and the work is ongoing to develop the product to use industrial-grade sensors. Data is being received onto a Google Sheet, with live readings from 2 sensors and certain other logic influenced by other sensors. There is an authentication process at the beginning of the loop and a cut-off process at the end, including actuation. You being the master of this are the prime charter of this role
2. In-house ruggedness testing and Field testing of Electronics assembly - You must imagine edge cases of challenges to be expected on-site at solar power plants, and design electronics/housing to mitigate vulnerabilities. There will be a strong focus on ensuring high fidelity of connections and data capture - zero data loss can be allowed
3. Build RFID system integration into the Raspberry Pi using RS-232
4. Link to API to push field data to the cloud. This will entail logging into the Postgres DB to check the data
5. Travel to remote on-field locations with the team to conduct field trials of the electronics at solar power plants
6. Be a participant in various company activities as a representative of tech. Essentially a good listener with a sense of responsibility will keep track of what's going on in the office and know when they have to step up
