Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Enterprise Web Search developer is a key player in the F5 external web properties team. This individual will contribute to the development of search capabilities and help to leverage search analytics at F5 for both operational web content improvement and analytical understanding of customer searches. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with the Enterprise Search and Analytics software preferrably Coveo, including the JavaScript components and administration.

Primary Responsibilities
Administrative

• Responsible for assisting in proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of search engine / application.
• Responsible for configuration, deployment and maintenance of the Coveo search platform, managing upgrades, performance tuning, managing crawl processes, and implementing user interfaces for the search application
• Continuously improve subject matter expertise in search technologies and integration solutions for F5’s web properties
• Ensures technical vision for the project is aligned with other corporate user experience, personalization, analytics, and IT goals.
  

Development

• Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Create and improve search capabilities and develop these within the Coveo platform
• Improve search results and boost relevancy
• Identify, explore, aggregate search related data to generate meaningful insights
• Establish best practices in search services development, integration of applications and govern detailed designs
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• General understanding of web crawling, meta tags
• Demonstrated experience implementing search and filter capabilities in web properties
• Experience with the Coveo platform is highly desirable but not required
• Experience working with multiple teams and prioritizing work across teams
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Experience monitoring web sites (uptime, indexing and usage)
• Ability to troubleshoot issues with the search platform and web properties
  
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools
  • Ability to use logging in Coveo to research issues and questions
• Experience generating reports and communicating to business stakeholders
• Python scripting
• Demonstrated strong JavaScript development skills
• Knowledge of JSON
• Experience using Perl or another scripting language for API calls on the Coveo application
• Self starter - able to prioritize your work and complete tasks with minimal oversight
• Experience working with a global team across multiple time zones
• Preferably having experience of working with Salesforce platform, integrating search on Salesforce platforms.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 5+ years IT experience
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Enterprise Web Search development.
• Good working knowledge of search tools like Coveo (preferred),Attivio, Lucene, or GSA
• Experience with JavaScript
• Experience integrating Javascript with the Coveo JSUII
• Experience administrating the Coveo application
• Can operate independently in managing the search tool and tuning results
• Agile project management skills
• Ability to lead and take ownership
  

Physical Demands And Work Environment

• Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.

• Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
