Job description:
1. Organisational leadership:
1.1. Lead implementation of ongoing programmes of the Trust and RGR Cell in agriculture and ensure quality outputs and impact.
1.2. Identify gap areas, undertake needs assessment and develop new programmes that address key challenges in agriculture
1.3. Ensure timely deployment and effective utilization of committed resources (human resource, finance, etc) and raise additional funding to expand RGR’s work.
1.4. Ensure all legal, statutory, financial compliances for RGR Cell as a non-profit entity.
2. Monitoring:
2.1. Monitoring of ongoing programmes and ensure mechanisms for course correction and effective implementation to achieve targets
2.2. Ensure strong MIS system to track progress in the field
2.3. Identify gap areas that need new solutions or technical support and
3. Team Management:
3.1. Provide effective mentoring for RGR team to develop their skills and capabilities.
3.2. Undertake periodic progress meetings and bi-annual appraisal meetings.
3.3. Develop strong and effective internal relationships with colleagues in all teams, through appropriate communications, cross team working and networking at all levels.
4. Networking and advocacy:
4.1. Liaise and develop strong working relationship/network with government and other stakeholders.
4.2. Support other field teams of Tata trusts to develop expertise in agriculture
4.3. Document, research and advocate successful approaches for scaling by influencing government / funders and implementation partners
Job Holder Specification:
Knowledge:
- Strong technical expertise in agriculture and rural community development
- Knowledge of non-profit compliances and government policies

- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Ability to prioritize, juggle a varied workload, work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines

- Excellent presentation skills

Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in program implementation and at least 10 years of leadership experience. Candidates should be below 65 Years of age.
- Experience of providing detailed reports and updates
- Successful track record of achieving targets
- Experience of conducting research and handling data
- Managing large and diverse teams
Qualifications: Doctorate or Post graduate degree in Agriculture
Circumstances:
- Undertake extensive travel to the field and other locations as required
- Able to work extended hours and weekend as required
