Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) invites application for the position Extension Assistant

Essential Qualifications:

i. B.Sc./B.Sc. (Agri.)/ B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.)/ B.Sc. (Horticulture)/B.Sc. (Forestry) with minimum OCPA of 6.00 out of 10.00 or 60 % marks.

ii. Master’s degree in Agricultural Meteorology/ Agricultural Physics with specialization in Agricultural Meteorology with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.

a) Must have passed Matric level certificate of Punjabi language of Punjab School Education Board or any other recognize board (as first or second language).

b) Proficiency of spoken Punjabi.

A candidate who does not possess Master’s degree in the relevant subject but possesses Ph.D. in the discipline required at Master’s level, shall be eligible for the post.

The candidates should have cleared four years degree programme at Graduation/Bachelors level.

The candidates who have completed Bachelor degree in three years should have cleared their deficiency courses in relevant subjects of Bachelors degree during their Master’s degree or should have completed one year duration Hons./Bridged/Special Programme etc.

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the scheme and initially will be awarded for a period of six months extendable for further period of six months or till the termination of the scheme whichever is earlier.

The services of the incumbent are liable to be terminated at any time without any notice.

The Punjab Agricultural University was established in 1962 to serve the state of erstwhile Punjab. On trifurcation of Punjab in November 1966, Haryana Agricultural University was carved out of PAU by an Act of Parliament in February 1970. Later, in July 1970, Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidalya was established.
