Finance Consultant
Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Will be responsible for contributing high level consultancy services and delivery of USGAAP Core financial reporting as well as selected FASB and Accounting Standard Codification (ASC) knowledge for preparation of financial statements for insurance companies domiciled in US. Profile also requires coordination and preparation of complete financial statements of multiple subsidiary and parent organisations, detailed annual and quarterly financial reporting package.
Key responsibilities:
- Display expert process knowledge on financial reporting, working knowledge of US GAAP reporting and XBRL reporting and tagging
- Data mining from various ERP systems for preparation of various notes to accounts
- Front end with partners in US
- Coordination and preparation of annual and quarterly statutory financial reporting for complicated companies of AXAUS
- Preparation of detailed AXAUS analyses for inclusion in the quarterly statutory analysis package, semi-annual audit committee presentations as well as management discussion packs
- Prepare notes to accounts tables in excel sheet and gather data for the same and prepare the foot note in Workiva
- Assistance on analysis and preparation of management discussion pack
- Pay attention to details of all financial figures in the annual statement and notify if material difference in the flow of financial reporting
- Address and resolve technical and/or procedural queries from internal and external customers
- Perform quality audits, identify any issues/trends and make recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance with agreed quality standards
- Prepare and review of audit documentations for external auditors and resolve queries
- Strong reporting skills; the ability to perform multiple tasks and making sure team is updated with latest US GAAP reporting knowledge
- Handle regular interaction with onshore partners and resolve their queries and drive defined productivity and quality standards
- Prepare routine and management reports
- Core responsibility of meeting the agreed SLAs
- Implement process improvements
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to onshore partners and internal stakeholders
- Prove support in preparation of month end schedules for closing (pre-close and closing activities)

- Graduate or Post Graduate in Commerce (Accounting Degree) with relevant experience in similar role and/or Chartered
- Accountant/Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with relevant experience in similar role
- Sound understanding on various US regulatory requirements (FASB, ASC)
- Sound understanding and technical knowledge on USGAAP
- 4 to 5 years hands on experience of working within similar role in preparation and review of financial statements
- Strong communication skills
- Advanced skills in MS Excel

- Ability to work harmoniously as part of a team
