Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Perform regular reconciliation of financial accounts, including bank statements, ledgers, and vendor accounts
2. Identify and investigate discrepancies or irregularities in financial records
3. Collaborate with other departments to resolve reconciliation issues promptly
4. Utilize advanced Excel functions and tools to streamline reconciliation processes
5. Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets for various financial tasks
6. Apply logical reasoning skills to analyze financial data, detect patterns, and identify potential issues
7. Investigate the root causes of discrepancies and propose corrective actions or process improvements
8. Develop strategies to enhance reconciliation procedures
9. Maintain accurate and organized records of reconciliation activities
10. Prepare clear and concise documentation of reconciliation processes, findings, and resolutions
11. Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, auditing, and finance departments, to resolve reconciliation-related issues
13. Communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders effectively
14. Continuously evaluate and enhance reconciliation processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
15. Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions where applicable
