The Freight Broker agent has the overall responsibility of coordinating all the shipping needs of the company. This role includes matching the appropriate authorized and reliable transportation carriers to the shippers and directing all third-party logistics of moving freight from its point of origin to its final destination. The Freight Broker Agent will serve as a liaison between our customers and freight carriers to secure transportation of goods. Freight Broker Agent will build relationship with shipper and carrier and service its own book of business.

Responsibilities

• Freight broker agent are responsible for matching authorized and reliable transportation carriers to the shippers and coordinating all of the shipping needs for many companies.
• Maintain current clients, generate leads and attracting new prospects, and develop a sales pipeline.
• Acquire new business through prospecting, cold calling, face to face meetings, etc.
• Contract with freight shipping carriers and negotiate the best rates and services for our customers.
• Identify, screen and select reputable and safe carriers for freight services.
• Maintain thorough records of all freight delivery activities and oversee the legal part of the transportation.
• Ensure freight activities are compliant with the industry laws and regulations.
• Resolve freight discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepares necessary paperwork (Delivery Orders, Invoice, Bill of Lading, etc.).
• Arrange product pickups delivery and tracks carriers to ensure on-time pickup and deliveries.
• Reduce shipping delays and unnecessary shipping cost.
• Ensure the safe passage of shipments from the shipper to the carrier through to the consignee.

Qualifications/Work Experience

• 1-2 years' customer service experience
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience with Systems, Internet and Microsoft Office products.
• Focus on quality customer service
• Exhibit professionalism and maturity in dealing with issues within and outside the team
• Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated person with exceptional attendance and punctuality
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast paced environment
• Proficiency in sales presentations.
