If the patient has come for a consultation/check up/follow-up make sure the concerned consultation is available. Convey the consultation fees to be paid, and then make a consultation slip simultaneously collecting the fees from the patient.
Direct/guide all the incoming patients to the concerned Consultant/Department.
Maintain and update all the registers at the reception counter (PID/MRD register Admission Book, Bed Booking Book and Bed Position Book).
In case of non-availability of bed inform the patient well before their admission date and keep them updated until they are allotted a bed.
In case of a patient coming for In-patient services/procedures (Day Care/MOT/Admission confirms the availability of bed and then admits the patient after completing the necessary paper work/formalities.
Attenders pass has to be given to the patient/attendee each time the patient gets admitted (date of issue has to be mentioned).
