reach52 is a fast growing, global, social enterprise start-up working to bring sustainable, universal basic healthcare services to users in low-access, developing regions. We do this through an innovative service model, an off-line technology platform and embedding support within communities to help residents access care, knowledge and other services we deliver. We need a socially motivated, high achieving individual to take a lead technology role.

Our mission is divided in to two parts: community access, navigation and healthcare support on the one side; and ultra-low-cost fill-in services to sustain the solution on the other. This allows our core healthcare services and treatments to reach further into communities, prevent unnecessary suffering and save lives where state of the art services don’t always get to.

Overview of the Role

reach52 is expanding our suite of services to offer mobile wallets and e-payment options on our off-line marketplace app, where we sell discounted medicines, health products and microinsurance policies. We are looking for a full stack developer who can take responsibility for building a digital wallet platform that will serve our residents across India, Philippines and Cambodia. The successful candidate will have deep subject matter expertise in instant payments, a FinTech approach to the use of technology, and experience delivering solutions in low resource settings. This position requires an entrepreneurial operator looking to make an impact.

You will be part of every stage of development, from requirements, design, building APIs, front-ends, back-ends, from concept to deployment. The candidate should be able to lead by example, guide the team in development and delivery of solutions, across both locations (Manila and Bangalore). Therefore, strong communication skills, leadership, experience in technical delivery and problem solving is paramount.

Role Scope and Responsibilities

The core role scope and responsibilities of the Fintech Full Stack Engineer will be:

• Propose, manage and implement payment and wallet solutions within projects;Understand and analyse user requirements and defects to create and maintain designs;
• To be able to work to minimise and manage application level security and delivery risk;
• Build and deployment of code via PlayStore;
• Manage and organize resource in a multitasking team environment and create a strong working relationship with management.
• Deliver solutions that can keep up with a rapidly evolving product in a timely fashion

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

·      Domain knowledge of Financial Technology and Payments processing.

·      Enjoy the challenge of building and growing a platform;

·      Have an eye for the broader strategic aspects and trends;

·      Mobile app development experience is preferred

·      Ability to communicate well with developers and non-technical persons in the organisation;

·      Appreciation of the need for design and assurance in a fast-moving organisation;

·      Experience of the need for security and data privacy;

·      Knowledge in a selection of the following and prepared to learn others as required:

o  Cloud platforms

o  Proficient with Java / Kotlin

o  NoSQL databases and replication

o  Commercially secure communications

o  Website / API security

o  Application integration

o  Design of off-line services

o  Containerisation (docker)

o  Release Management and Deployment

·      Knowledge of healthcare systems and/or technology an advantage;

·      Good written and oral communication in English is essential for communication in our global team, other regional dialects/languages is an advantage;

·      Strong team working skills and flexibility to work as part of a small-but-growing start-up team.
