Position Purpose

This position plays a very unique role in the organization. The primary focus of the role is to evaluate new and existing business procedures, identify areas where efficiencies can be gained through process standardization and technology, and implement the solutions to actualize these gains.

It is a highly technical role requiring a balance of strong financial knowledge and computer programming background. The resource will be expected to liaise with various business departments and IT teams, as well as actively developing scripts and applications. For technologies that have already been adopted into production by the business, the resource will be tasked with maintaining them.

The successful candidate may also spend time performing day-to-day deliverables within various business functions to gain hands-on operational experience of the business.

Main Job Functions/Responsibilities

Correspond with various business groups to identify tactical needs
Develop peripheral automation for our processes (e.g. VBA macros, SQL scripts etc)
Co-ordinate with our other technology groups for implementation and deployment
QA testing and roll-out of technology
Support and maintain existing scripts and tools employed by the group
Ensure there is sufficient documentation for our processes
Assist with various projects as assigned

Education, Qualifications And Experience

Bachelor degree in a quantitative discipline, such as computer science, engineering, finance, economics, or accounting,
Experience with some programming languages
Experience with SQL and VBA macros is preferred
Experience with OBIEE, C#/.Net, and HTML is an asset
Candidacy/completion of CSC, CFA, CMA or other related certifications is an asset
Affinity with markets and investments
Excellent proficiency in English, verbal and written
Strong analytical skills
