Global Trade Compliance Assurance Specialist

Education and Experience Required :

First level university degree or equivalent experience and/or 5+ years of experience in an import/export global trade function, preferably with a large multi-national corporation or import/export service provider.
Alternatively: (former) Customs Officer with higher internal degree.
Alternatively: Customs broker with corresponding license and 6-10 years of experience in a customs/global trade function.
Audit/assessment experience is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills Required :

Excellent understanding of import and export topics, national and international trade requirements to align customs/trade function with business objectives
Excellent understanding of supply chain processes
Ability to identify and create analytical tools, models and methods for making key decisions
Excellent communication and influencing skills; mastery in English (written and verbal); a third language is a plus.
Excellent internal and external relationship management skills
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
Basic knowledge or experience on using the SAP/ERP sys
Project management skills, with capability to lead cross functional teams in multiple geographies that impact the organization
Business acumen and technical knowledge within area of responsibility
Team player who is willing to take on a variety of tasks
Time management skills to enable efficient completion of multiple tasks/assignments
Recognize high priority issues and escalate accordingly
