Panjab University (PU) invites application for the position Guest Faculty

Essential:

(i) Good academic record as define by the concerned University with at least 55% of the marks (50% in case of SC/ST/Physically & Visually handicapped) or an equivalent grade in a point wherever grading system is followed at Master's degree level i.e. M.Sc./ MCA in Computer Science from an Indian University. or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.

(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications. the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC CSIR.

(iii) The candidates. who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.

Desirable: Ph.D. degree in Computer Science with at least two-years of research experience or teaching experience of post-graduate classes in the field of respective subject with relevant publication/s in peer reviewed journals.

Honorarium: The above assignment is on lecture basis with a token honorarium of Rs. 1000/- per lecture with an upper limit of Rs. 25000/- per month. The candidate shall have to undertake that he/she will not draw any fellowship/ stipend or any financial assistance from any agency and will do the same till they are teaching in the Centre for Public Health as a Guest Faculty.

The University has been incorporated for the purpose, among others, of making provision for imparting education in Arts, Letters, Science and the learned professions and of furthering advancement of learning, the prosecution of original research, with power to appoint University Professors, Readers and Lecturers, to hold and manage educational endowments, to erect, equip and maintain University colleges, libraries, laboratories and museums, to making regulations relating to the residence and conduct of students and to do all such acts as tend to promote study and research.
