Hardware Engineer
Responsibilities:-
Design and development across the full lifecycle from requirements analysis through conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design, procurement, and manufacturing support to integrating the hardware with the hosted software and firmware and lastly to acceptance test and delivery to the customer.
As a design engineer, you are responsible for creating high-quality and robust data packs, for fully documenting and recording your work products, keeping them under configuration management, and providing plans and reports on progress to your line manager.
Completing tasks in accordance with appropriate processes and procedures.
Taking an active role in engineering process improvement.
You will work closely with Software and Firmware engineers to solve real integration problems at the system level.
You may from time to time be asked to plan work for and supervise industrial placement or summer students.
Most training will be delivered via on-the-job experience working in a hardware design team forming part of a multi-discipline delivery team.
Additional formal technical training to augment the on-the-job training may be provided via taught courses depending on the business needs.
Qualifications:-
Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering / related science or equivalent work experience
Adaptable and innovative–embracing new initiatives and how to transfer them into service capabilities
Ability to analyse system level documents and derive detailed Unit requirements under own initiative
Experience of de-bugging and testing new designs and supporting module and system-related test, verification and integration project phases as required by a development type programme prior to system deliveries
Ability to communicate effectively across different disciplines both verbally and in written form
Ability to work on own or as part of a team to resolve technical issues
Must be self-motivated and have an aptitude to problem solve and drive difficult issues to conclusion
Ability to interface with suppliers of key components and assemblies
