To ensure that all staff carry out their duties using approved procedures & only the materials & equipment provided by the department, in a safe economical manner & are following training at all times
Completion of daily work records, annual leave, staff rotas and timesheet authorization including staffing issues, and reorganize service delivery at short notice to ensure standards maintained
Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks and oversee staff on a daily basis
To maintain good relations with the staff of all level of the organization
Mentor and coach new employees and to support the induction process
To carry out staff probation reviews, complete & develop staff performance review plans where needed
To report any compliments, complaints or incident of theft, fire, accident, loss, damage or other irregularity and take such action as is necessary or practicable.
General assistance with associated administration duties
Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment
Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments
Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness
Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence
Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards
Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job
Respond to patient’s complaints and special requests
Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies and monitor and refill cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach and rubber gloves
Participate in large cleaning projects/ activities as required
Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas
Any other reasonable request as directed by manager or senior
