The HP-UX and Linux System Administrator will be responsible for managing day to day operations

Technical Skills

HP-UX and Linux Admin is responsible for administration of different environments (Test, Development, Production etc.)
Very good experience in performing all admin tasks, upgrade, patching through tools on HP-UX as primary & Linux as secondary
Installing, configuring and maintaining HP servers
Installation and configuration of High Availability environment using MC /Service Guard
Configuration and administration of HP Logical volume manager
Installation and Configuration of ignite backup.
Creation and verification of Golden images
Patch and Package administration
Printer Administration
Hands on experience in developing shell scripts for day to day system administration tasks
Able to co-ordinate with Hardware vendors
Good process knowledge in call logging, tracking, closure procedures
Knowledge of ITSM processes
Should have basic understanding of storage technologies
Adhere to SLA response and resolution times and ensure tickets are regularly updated
Escalation of problems in a timely manner as per the escalation matrix

Operational

Troubleshoot problems associated with all HP-UX and Linux related issues
Take ownership and responsibility of queries, issues and problems assigned to the HP-UX and Linux related issues
Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues
Dealing with queries by following SOPs for fault resolution
Maintains IT records and tracking hardware and software inventory for areas of responsibility
Develop sound understanding of IT operations and IT systems as well as business related processes and procedures
Maintain adequate knowledge of HP-UX and Linux technology to provide a high level of support
Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures
