RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Global Investment Banking Division (IBD) strives to provide best-in-class advice and execution excellence on complex transactions across mergers and acquisitions and financing (including equity offerings, debt issuances and derivative transactions)
Team Overview
The Finance team within the Investment Banking Division resides in the Management & Strategy department and is responsible for providing financial analysis and management information to the divisionâs senior leadership.
Members Of The Team Will Closely Work With
Relationship Lending Analyst / Associate will be responsible for underwriting, structuring, executing and advising on relationship based lending, certain financing transactions requiring a capital commitment from Goldman Sachs, and managing a portfolio of on balance sheet lending commitments.
- Syndication banks, borrowers and external legal counsel
- Investment Banking client coverage, Investment Grade Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Legal and Credit
Risk Management
- Trade counterparties and GS clients
Job Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: Ensure the portfolio of balance sheet loans and related trades is actively risk managed
and in-line with expectations, including trade bookings, portfolio replenishments, and data accuracy, with
primary responsibility for structured risk trades, analytics & reporting.
- Client Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for external trade counterparties as well as internal
stakeholders.
- Portfolio Analytics and Reporting: Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc portfolio level reporting /
analytics to external trade counterparties, internal constituents and senior management.
- Documentation: Assure the portfolio adheres to the strict confines of trade documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterâs degree in finance, accounting or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: ability to speak with internal and external parties, such as
Structuring teams, Strats, Risk, and GS clients and trade counterparties
- Strong analytical and organizational skills: able to manage multiple tasks and competing workstreams
- Highly motivated and adaptable: ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure,
changing environment
- Accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity
- Interest in the financial markets, particularly debt capital markets / Leverage Finance and structured products
