Informatica Developer

Essential Functions

Job Description:

The position’s primary focus will be in designing, developing and supporting Informatica/ETL within the IT Apps organization. This person will work very closely with business to ensure successful delivery of data.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and document technical specification of informatica objects
• Develop, test, and package the code for migration to Test, QA, and Prod environments
• Document and execute unit test cases
• Support integration testing, UAT and in resolving defects
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve production issues
• Perform peer code reviews
• Develop, Operationalize and Support ETL processes in support of critical, revenue generating business systems
• system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
• Provided updates and status communications with business partners
• Performed requirements gathering, prepared Use Cases, process flows and state diagrams for system/process changes.
• Manage maintenance or upgrade releases of supported systems
• Estimate work effort and build a business case for specific enhancements/changes
• Be proactive by preventing problems before they occur
• Be creative and find new ways of working, creating process efficiencies
• Bring rigor and clarity to a process
• Support internal and external audits
• Strong understanding of system workflows and how data impacts the business
• Design and develop scalable data analysis and ETL packages.
• Conduct ETL optimization, troubleshooting and debugging through integration of Informatica components.
• Tune and optimize ETL jobs for performance and throughput. Interact with data modelers and data base administrator on data architecture optimization for ETL performance
• Monitor existing ETL processes and troubleshooting errors
  
  Qualifications

• 7 -9 years of technical development experience in informatica objects/mappings, and Administration.
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis.
• Experience in data migration, working within delivery teams for projects of significant size
• Should have worked on both implementation and support projects
• Should have the ability to quickly develop data warehousing systems and solve any issues to ensure the continued accuracy of business data
• Ability to create mappings from scratch often calls for strong creative skills on the part of an Informatica developer
• should be able to analyze data needs and options and understand the needs of various clients and deliver within schedule.
• when data warehousing systems are down, it falls to Informatica developers to quickly assess the problem and provide a solution.
• Highly skilled in PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Workflow, Shell Scripting
• Should have good experience in performance tuning Good skills in data administration, design, and architecture.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Build reusable components for a scalable ETL methodology such as error handling, logging and recoverability.
• Ability to translate user and business requirements to technical solutions
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex process and technology issues
• Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes
• Should be conversant with ITSM processes and tools such as Service Now
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Added advantage if working experience or knowledge of OBIEE, Python, Machine Learning, AI, Dell Boomi, Robotics
  
  Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in IT/MIS/Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
