Job Description Summary

The Information Developer will be responsible for delivering the overall content experience for enterprise systems software products. Exhibiting a strong understanding of user goals and business goals, the Information Developer creates easy-to-use and effective content from complex technical information. With sharp language and interaction design skills, the ideal candidate delivers a seamless content experience across the user journey.
Objectives of the role

• Obtain a deeper understanding of the assigned products and business domains
• Develop and evangelizes a good understanding of multiple audiences
• Talk to cross-functional subject matter experts, install and use the assigned products, and develop user-friendly, engaging content
• Develop content for guides, online help, videos, UI text, in-app help, and any other type of content required for the assigned software products
• Describe moderately complex technical information from the user’s perspective in simple and concise language
• Master stylistic adherence and ability to write in global English
• Start thinking about innovative ways of user onboarding for new features
  
  

Responsibilities

• Writes product content for software products; writes content that is accurate, complete, unambiguous, concise, and contains only information that is valuable to the user
• Writes content that is focused on user goals not product features
• Takes occasional guidance from the manager or team lead to write new content, or update the existing content
• Independently uses and troubleshoots current Rocket authoring tools (oXygen XML Editor, DITA framework),graphic tools, source control tools, and technologies; identifies and reports scope for improvement
• With support from seniors in the team, delivers UI text, context-sensitive help, videos, guided tours, along with conventional help
• Shows good understanding of the products, industry, and business
• Works closely with an editor on content deliverables; is aware of items to include in a self-review checklist
• Regularly tests content contents and their function as an installed part of the product
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Journalism, English, or a technical discipline
• 5-8 years of experience in working as an Information Developer
• Fluency in plain English, minimalism, and structured authoring
• Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
• Passion for enhancing the product experience
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented team-player with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritize work, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
