Job Description: Info Security Engineer Mgr (Senior Security Engineer) Do you have what it takes to operate in the business of IT security; to be part of the solution that protects, secures, and advances, a firm’s security strategies and technologies? At Neustar, the Security Operations and Engineering professionals design, deliver, and support the security infrastructure and tooling to maintain the overall IT security of Neustar. We are seeking a principal security engineer to join Neustar’s Security Ops and Engineering team. This career opportunity is about using your specialized skills and extensive experience to contribute and support the team in this fast paced, dynamic environment. This new team player must be also be energetic, engaging and autonomously perform their activities in support of business requirements.
Provide operational support for security operations in a 24x7x365 environment with on-call rotation Design and management of firewalls including access control policies and routing Research, evaluate and provide recommendations for new security technologies, methodologies and solutions Architect the security fabric for new infrastructure projects and their related systems Expert knowledge of network security related best practices and policies Manage the design and deployment of site-to-site and remote access Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) Perform advanced troubleshooting techniques such as packet captures and forensic analysis Provide support for security incident management including internal violations, attacks, malware, and system outages Enforce Information Security policies, standards, and processes Provide thorough and intuitive documentation for network and security designs, configurations, and standard operating procedures Integrate, maintain, and support monitoring and alerting software and systems (open-source and commercial). Requirements and Hands on Experience: Possess expert level experience with the following technologies and concepts: Firewall solutions from leading vendors (e.g. Check Point, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc..) Remote access and site-to-site VPNs Endpoint security solutions Virtualization technologies such as SDN, cloud or commercial products and services Linux/Windows security administration Networking principles for routing and switching (OSPF and BGP) Web Proxying IDS/IPS and application layer inspection Incident Management and Forensics – Network or Host based Network Access Control (NAC) Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Hardware Security Modules (HSM) Programming/scripting skills including RESTful API experience Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Here’s what you need to bring with you: 5-8 years years’ experience in Information Security (architecture, operations, engineering related functions) College degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience Strong self-starter who has the ability to operate independently and work well with a team Strong self-starter with ability to operate independently or work as a team member Demonstration of a highly committed work ethic and a passion for the digital space Excellent oral/written presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively with leadership; proficiency in ability to prepare presentations, analysis and status reports Industry and vendor security certifications are preferred Neustar does not accept unsolicited resumes from external firms or agencies.
