JPMorgan Chase & Co. jobs - Infrastructure Engineering - Middleware Applications Support

As a Middleware Infrastructure Engineer the candidates will work in a team environment to provide administration of Apache Tomcat Server, IBM Websphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server. Working knowledge of Siteminder Policy Server and SAML installations is required. Candidate should have working knowhow of these applications on AIX and Linux infrastructures.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the installation, configuration, build and on going maintenance of development, QA, and Production infrastructures/environments. Shell scripting the installations, and replication of environments is a primary role in this position. Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting application issues with these products is required. You must be able to work individually in a team environment and be an SME to guide or advise our customers. Candidate will be part of a team which will support production environments in a 24/7 mode.
The candidate will be interacting with NA team to provide status updates and help maintain the applications that the team manages.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Environment Support of 24/7 along with NA team resources
• Build Environments to specifications.
• Create practice and maintain standard installation and setup procedures for various applications. Help Update documentation for Run The Engine Functions
• Participate in incident resolution and perform Root cause analyses on production issues.
• Consult with vendors & other teams to recommend best practices and tune software during the development cycle.
• Recommend and maintain standards for monitoring and event management.
• Maintain and facilitate standard backup procedures, retention plans, and restore testing.
• Assess impact on performance with different changes and review scalability of the infrastructure.
Skills Required:
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-8  years of proven experience in installing, configuration and administration of the following:
         1. IBM Websphere Application Server 7.x, 8.x, 9.x
         2. Apache Web Server / Tomcat
         3. IBM HTTP Server
• CA Siteminder Policy Server with SAML integration would be a plus.
• Familiarity with DB2 and SQL Databases
• Experience in shell and Python scripting is a must.
• Experience with redundancy and resiliency applied to create a high availability service.
• Experience in working in a 24X7 environments and on-call support.
• Experience or awareness of SRE principles, Cloud or IAC along with developmental skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Team Player with ability to deliver individually as well.
