Job Description and Qualifications
We are searching for a graduate mechanical engineer having 10 to 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry (with focus on fabrication equipment). The Inspection Engineer is responsible to assist in inspection of various equipment for ASU, LNG & HYCO plants and support in QMS implementation & documentation.
Purpose
Inspection Engineer position is to support in various inspections being carried out at Suppliers place for Low Cost Sourcing and for Project Equipment ordered in India for local Projects and for Global projects to support from India. Inspection Engineer may require travelling to suppliers for conducting inspections and ensuring the materials are manufactured as per required specifications & drawings.
Nature and Scope Inspection Engineer position will have an overall impact on Quality Objectives set by organisation. Inspection Engineer position also covers onsite activities where required and work closely with Engineering & Expediting teams.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Must have in-depth knowledge and practical experience of welding processes and procedures for Heat Exchangers, large vessels, tanks, Piping, and structural steel etc.
- Must have hands-on experience in inspections of steel structures, large vessels, piping, plates, etc. and in-depth knowledge of all national and international codes, standards and regulations.
- Lead the inspection coordination activities with third party inspection agencies for timely arrangement of inspector, review of inspection & release notes, material test reports etc.
- Assist in inspection estimate of equipment for new projects as & when required
- Generate inspection reports and other inspection statistics on regular basis in order to report inspection performance.
- Review the inspection reports performed by 3rd party inspection agencies.
- Lead NCR process and problem solving and drive corrective actions at suppliers with support from engineering team.
- Work closely with local engineering resources in supplier activities where required
- Willing to travel within country & outside of country for more than 50% of time
Minimum Requirements And Qualifications
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or welding EngineeringWell versed in NDT Level II in RT, MT, UT & VTKnowledge of ASME, ISO, API, EN and other applicable codes & standardsExcellent English language proficiency is required (oral and written) and language of country originFamiliar with MS office applications
ExperienceAt least 10 years of working experience with min. of 7 years in equipment inspections function with multinational company, preferably within the Industrial equipment, Oil and Gas Industries.Familiar with fabrication equipment design / manufacturing process is preferred.Advanced knowledge of Quality System, ISO9001, Lean Six Sigma
