What will you do at Ciena? Software test engineer will work in Ciena India network management system verification team as an Individual contributor. He/She is responsible to carry out manual execution, automation development and execution of network management system and planning software. He/She must be experienced with s/w testing activities relating to test planning, automation development, and tests execution for telecom products 

S/W Test engineer is responsible for the execution of the product verification (PV) phase for the Network Management related applications in a multi-site R&D environment. General Activities Test strategy, Test planning of manual & automation test development Manual & automation test execution of NMS/EMS based telecom products Work with strategic CIENA product partners to ensure coordination throughout the PV cycle Perform continuous process improvement via the Test Escape Analysis process (TEA) Collaboration with stakeholders Work with customer certification test group on all levels of testing component level testing, module level testing, system level testing, network level testing Work with Lab teams to expand the lab to procure test sets, servers, non-revs, etc. Confer with software engineering personnel to resolve problems related to specifications and associated test plans/procedures Skills Software testing Working experience in development of test strategy, test planning, manual & automation test development Experienced in manual & automation test execution of NMS/EMS based telecom products Worked in an Agile development environment with experience testing either In-scrum or customer vertical use cases, executing cross functional workflows using API micro services Understanding of solution, system performance, load and stress testing Technical Experience working with DWDM/OTN/SONET/SDH/Packet and networking technologies - (L0/L1/L2&L3) Experience working with Microservice Based Architecture Dockers, Containers, various DevOps tools Development experience of Python, JavaScript, Postman and Selenium Knowledge of databases like Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra Knowledge of Core/Metro Transport, Core/Metro Switching, Ethernet Transport/Switching and Carrier Ethernet (Packet Optical Networking ) Knowledge of Layer 3 Networking domain and routing protocols - CLNS,DDP,EGP, ICMP,IGMP, IPSec, IPV4/IPV6,OSPF, RIP Thorough understanding of OAM&P based products and their project lifecycle, including Service Layer Management, Inventory Management and Connection Management. Experience with north bound OSS interfaces (REST/TMF) Working knowledge of Enterprise based network management software solutions in a Unix/Linux/VM/Cloud based environment
