JD:IT Data Engineer HANA

Job Responsibilities

Micron Technology is looking for an experienced SAP HANA / BW Data Engineer in the Sales and Supply Chain domain of its I.T. Business Solution Delivery Team within the Enterprise Analytics and Data. The Business Solution Delivery Team works closely with Micron's business functions in all aspects of data, data warehousing, and business intelligence building data assets and BI solutions. We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong HANA, Native HANA, SLT & BW development and modeling skills to be part of our agile development team that is transitioning into DevOps. We also need the data engineer to partner with Sales & Supply Chain teams to design and provide data warehouse solutions with actionable business intelligence for our Sales & Supply Chain teams worldwide. Thus, it is expected that the candidate has a sound functional and business knowledge in the Sales/Supply Chain modules. This role will require a growth mentality, an open mind, a team-oriented attitude and good business and functional knowledge as skill set will need to expand to better support and enhance existing products as well as build and implement new ones.

Responsibilities And Tasks

• Design, develop, code, test, enhance and debug existing and new HANA data sets/flows
• Relies on depth of technical and data modeling skills to lead discussions in refinement and planning meetings in designing business intelligence, data warehousing, and advanced analytics solutions
• Pair program with other members of the team to learn and expand skill set and business domain knowledge both as a mentor and mentee
• Detailed requirements gathering and documentation preparation, which will include understanding the business processes and desired outcomes, data profiling and analysis to understand how the data can be used effectively and working with development teams locally and overseas mainly in the Sales / Supply chain area of business.
• Background or experience working in a complex Sales & Supply Chain environment
• Working with business to understand their current & future reporting needs, accordingly, create and update backlogs.
• Create functional and technical specification documents for further development activities.
• Closely work with technical development team for technical refinement, code review, business testing and validation.
• Create test plan against requirement to ensure delivery of data, reports, dashboards, metrics meets business requirement.
• Participate in on-call rotation as well as assist in resolving escalated issues
• Be a team player
• Collaborate with end customers to ensure high quality BI solutions are delivered
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Business Intelligence
• Minimum 6 years' experience working in SAP HANA/ Native HANA/HANA Modelling
• Intermediate experience with ABAP
• Strong data modeling skills
• Advanced problem-solving skills
• Experience with large complex data sets and flows in Sales / Supply Chain
• Have extremely good functional and business understanding of the Sales & Supply Chain area of business.
• Experience optimizing, tuning, indexing, partitioning and scaling strategies within database environments
• Understanding of LSA++ and data modeling in HANA
• Experience with SLT, SDA, Advanced DSO's/Composite providers (preferred)
• Experience with business objects (preferred)
• Experience with SSIS, SSAS, Unit Testing and analysis (preferred)
• Experience with BitBucket, Jenkins, and QuerySurge (preferred)
• Experience with Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban)
• The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, work environment
• The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
• Self-motivated and curious with the ability to work under minimal supervision
• The ability to work both independently and on project teams
