Software License Management ("SLM") key responsibilities are to ensure that we demonstrate effective & independently auditable controls around our deployed Software covering both licensed and open-source software, that we support our suppliers alike in Software licensing queries, and help to identify & champion Software cost save initiatives across IT and Procurement teams.
Software License Management is crucial to the ambition of Group Architecture to substantially reduce expenditure on software over the next few years.

Responsibilities

The Technical Analyst works in a small team based in Birmingham who will work closely with Software License management, ServiceNow engineering, and functions to


• Source software installation data needed to support the SLM function
• Write reports over the data to catch data quality issues and allow these to be addressed by data owners
• Capture software metering data so that we can determine frequency of use of software
• Acquire data from tools like Oracle LMS and IBM's ILMT/BigFix
• Capture monitoring data from SaaS applications and cloud platforms
• Analyse captured data and produce reports on data content.

  Must have
  
  • Experience with any of Software License Management, Software Asset Management or ServiceNow would be an advantage
    
  • Previous knowledge or experience in Software License Management, Software Asset Management, Sourcing and Procurement or Information Technology
  • (IT) Project Management disciplines, ideally with an understanding of software contract/ license types and their meaning and implications for an organisation including experience or knowledge of open source licensing
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to demonstrate flexibility in problem solving
  • Six (6) months experience participating in Service Now deployment projects or maintaining Service Now instances
  • Experience of working in a technology environment
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers/vendors
  • Awareness of ITILv3 Framework
  • Results & customer oriented individual who is keen to learn new things, enjoys working in a fast paced environment with competing and alternating priorities and maintains a constant focus on delivery.
  • Experience in data modelling or well-developed business and requirements analysis skills
  • A background in banking or similar complex large organisation, working collaboratively across multi-dimension teams within a multi-vendor and multi-cultural environment
    Nice to have
    
    • Understanding of Flexera products
      
    • Familiarity with Tanium or other discovery tools
