Core Responsibilities:

GST Registration and Filing:
- Assisting in registering businesses for GST.
- Preparing and filing various GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) within stipulated deadlines.
GST Accounting:
- Recording and classifying business transactions accurately for GST purposes.
- Reconciling Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims with supplier invoices.
- Maintaining proper GST ledgers and ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
GST Compliance Management:
- Monitoring adherence to GST regulations and identifying potential risks.
- Responding to GST notices and inquiries from authorities.
- Preparing for GST audits and assisting senior CA professionals.
Client Communication:
- Liaising with clients on GST-related queries and concerns.
- Providing basic guidance and support regarding GST procedures.

Additional Responsibilities (based on experience):

Assisting in developing and implementing internal controls for GST compliance.
Staying updated on changes in GST laws and regulations.
Identifying opportunities to optimize GST claims and minimize tax liabilities.
Preparing reports and presentations on GST compliance for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

CA Intermediate qualification: Demonstrates a strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and auditing, with a specific focus on GST.
B.Com. degree: Provides a solid foundation in business and accounting concepts.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience: Experience in accounting, taxation, or a CA firm is preferable.
Working knowledge of GST laws and regulations: Understanding of the Goods and Services Tax Act and related rules is essential.
Proficiency in accounting software: Experience with accounting software like Tally or Busy, with a GST module, is necessary.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: The ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and find solutions is crucial.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy: Ensuring meticulousness in handling tax-related information is paramount.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues is vital.

Additional Desirable Skills:

Experience in tax filing software with a focus on GST.
Knowledge of indirect tax laws and procedures.
Understanding of business processes and their impact on GST compliance.

Note: While a CA (Intermediate) qualification is valuable, experienced B.Com graduates with relevant knowledge and skills can also be strong candidates for GST compliance roles, especially in smaller firms
