Jr. Research Fellow Job Opportunity In Punjab Agricultural University

Project: “Development of heat tolerant, high yielding and climate resilient wheat cultivars by utilizing genomics, molecular and physiological information and resources, CSS-18 (PC- 6227)”

Department: Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics

Essential Qualifications: B.Sc.(Agri.)/B.Sc.(Hort.)/B.Sc.(Forestry)/B.Sc.(Medical) B.Sc.(Biotechnology) with minimum OCPA 6.0/10.0 basis or 60 % marks. M.Sc. Plant Breeding / Plant Breeding & Genetics / Genetics (Crop plants) /Biotechnology/ molecular Biology/Botany with minimum OGPA of 3.40/4.00 or OCPA 6.50/10.00 or 65% marks.

Desired Qualifications: Experience in data scoring and field evaluation. Working knowledge with wheat crop. Computer literacy in Microsoft office.

Fellowship: Rs. 25000/- P. M. fixed for 1st and 2nd year and Rs.28000/ p.m fixed + 20% HRA

Application Fee: Rs. 200/- in shape of Bank Draft payable at Ludhiana in favour of Comptroller, PAU, Ludhiana.

Note: The candidate, who does not possess Master’s degree in the relevant subject but possesses Ph.D Degree in the discipline required at Master’s level, shall be eligible for the post. Candidates having post-graduate degree in basic sciences with three years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualification and two years research experience. Ph.D. in PlantBreeding/PlantBreeding&Genetics/ Genetics (crop plants)/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or related fields will be given preference.

On trifurcation of Punjab in November 1966, Haryana Agricultural University was carved out of PAU by an Act of Parliament in February 1970. Later, in July 1970, Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidalya was established.
