Job Description

1. Junior Research Fellow – DRDO-GTRE CARS Funded Project

2. Job Description: Roles and Responsibilities

a. Applications are invited for the Post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the DRDO-GTRE CARS Funded Project in School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC) Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT),Tamil Nadu

3. Title of the Project: “ Effectiveness of Leading Edge Film Cooling Applied to First Stage Stator blade Row of Gas Turbine Engine- A Numerical Study ”

4. Number of positions: One [01]

5. Qualification:

A. Essential: ME/M.Tech/MS in Fluid and Thermal, Aerospace engineering, Propulsion, Computational Mechanics or related fields

B. Desirable:

a. Sound knowledge of Fluid Dynamics, Gas Turbine Theory and Heat Transfer

b. Strong and demonstrated experience in theoretical and numerical study of compressible flows.

c. Experience in hexahedral mesh generation and simulations using Ansys Fluent.

d. Excellent written and oral communication skills

6. Stipend: Rs. 20,000 / pm consolidated for a period of 2 years

7. Sponsoring Agency: DRDO-GTRE

8. Duration: 2 years.

9. Principal Investigator: Dr. Bibin John, Associate Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering ,Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu – 632 014.
