Job Impact and Scope Summary
The Digital Content Specialist will enter, review, edit, and create relevant and quality content for all product lines in a DITA XML and/or other platform structure. The position will work with business partners internally to ensure offerings are following processes and procedures to go through production efficiently to display in print and on multiple user-interface platforms. The Digital Content Specialist will also assist with continually meeting and delivering the companyâs high standard of quality for content-driven publications and products by predetermined timelines.
Responsibilities
- Copy and paste information, or apply styles, from Word documents and PDFs into DITA XML and/or other platforms based on product line and product type.
- Code elements in the platform, such as bold and italics, numbered and bulleted lists, etc., so the end result will appear on the LMS as intended using internal DITA XML and/or other platforms to match source documentation.
- Conduct QA to ensure the quality of the product on LMS matches the information from the source document.
- Use LEAN principles on a daily basis to generate, evaluate, and experiment with process improvement ideas.
- Establish individual goals and contribute to team goals while embracing change.
- Work closely with content partners to ask and answer questions pertaining to relevant online course material.
- Answer business inquiries on online content-related topics.
- Troubleshoot online problems as they arise.
- Be a team member prepared to communicate project status and work with other teams and team members to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years experience in a technical role working with HTML5
- Strong exposure to DITA
- Experience working with HTML editing software
- Familiarity with content management systems
- Problem solver with a strong, innovative and initiative-seeking approach to problem-solving and finding solutions
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office a must
- Must have strong attention to detail, strong computer skills, capable of multi-tasking.
- Must be a self-starter, driven, motivated, ability to meet deadlines, quick learner, ability to adapt to change, work independently and as a team, embrace change
Preferred Experience
- Digital publishing experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with Agile best practices
- Experience with scripting languages and/or content conversion experience
