IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences; IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:

1. Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (On Contract)

2. Number of Positions: 01

3. Essential Qualification: Post Graduate degree in Basic Science/Arts/Humanities & Social Sciences or Graduate/Post Graduate degree in professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following:

a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Test – UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.

b. The Selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Govt. Departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc. (On the date of the interview, the candidate should produce at least provisional certificate of the above mentioned degree)

4. Desirable Qualification: Post Graduate Degree or Masters in Philosophy. Knowledge and familiarity with the concepts in Ethics. Interest in working in the areas of Applied Ethics. Interest in conducting interdisciplinary research in the areas of ethics and technology. Exposure to engineering disciplines.

5. Consolidated Emoluments: ₹31,000/- per month and HRA 16% (Accommodation can be given based on the availability in the hostel. If the hostel accommodation is given, then HRA will not be applicable.)

6. Duration of the tenure: Maximum 2 years

7. Tenure of appointment: The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 03 (three) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds in the project and requirement in the project.

Age Limit:

Not exceeding 32 years as on the date of selection process.

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad) is a premier Science and Technology Institute established in 2016 under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. Academic activities started from July 2016 session with B.Tech courses in three core branches namely Computers Science, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. At present, the intake is 40 students in each specialization.
