Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) invites application for the position Junior Research Fellow
The project will involve multi-scale computer simulations, such as Density Functional Theory (DFT),and Classical Molecular Dynamics (CMD) to model the mechanisms of ion-conduction in lithium battery electrolytes and solid-electrolyte interphases.
The work would require basic understanding of concepts of physical chemistry, solid-state physics and electrochemistry.
A prior experience with classical and/or DFTMD simulations and/or python/FORTRAN coding and/or LAMMPS/GROMACS/VASP/QuantumEspresso software will be considered as an extra factor.
The Fellow will be provided suitable amount of intellectual freedom while pursuing the above topics.
She/he will also be involved in writing analysis programs to compute properties, attend conferences and write journal articles.
Based on the subject to the performance, and the interest of the Fellow, an opportunity to pursue Ph.D. at IIT Gandhinagar may also be considered.
