VNIT jobs - Junior Research Fellow

Applications are invited from self-motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the Department of Science and Technology (DST) India – European Union (EU) Consortium Project on “Sustainable Energy system for Achieving Novel Carbon Neutral Energy communities (SUSTENANCE)" with primary focus on “Development of Smart Solid State Transformer for Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure”.

2. Essential Qualifications: M.Tech/M.E.in Electrical Engineering Department with specialization in Power Electronics/Electrical Drives/Power System/Energy System/Control System or equivalent. Candidate should have qualified GATE in the past.

3. Desirable Qualifications: Candidate should have experimental knowledge in the hardware and controller design of power electronic converters. First division in UG and PG will be given preference. Basic knowledge of MATLAB, PSIM, PCB Design Software and Microcontroller/Digital Signal Controller/FPGA. Good analytical ability and competent in technical writing skills.

4. Fellowship: First two years Rs. 31,000 p.m. (Consolidated) and Third year Rs. 35,000 (consolidated). HRA will be given as per rules.

5. Duration: Maximum duration of the project is 42 Months. Initially, appointment will be made for six months, which can be extended later for every six months till the completion of project subject to approval of Director, VNIT. The extension shall be solely based on satisfactory performance.
