Job Description

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) invites application for the position Junior Research Fellow/ Senior Research Fellow

Project: “Pine Oak Ecosystem: Interaction with water-climate-plant biodiversity”

Essential Qualifications: Postgraduate Degree (with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent) in Professional Courses in Civil Engg./Water Resources/ Hydrology /Agricultural Engg./Geomatics/Geo-informatics/Remote Sensing and GIS OR Postgraduate degree (with minimum of 55% marks) in Environmental Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology. The NET/GATE qualification is mandatory for application.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in Himalayan field monitoring and hydrological modelling (SPHY, etc.),WRF, and gridded data handling experience

Job Requirement: The selected candidates will be required to analyse collected field data from the Himalayan catchment(s) and perform meteorological data analysis, hydrological modelling.

Salary: 28000/31000+HRA (fixed as per funding agency)

Age Limit: The upper age limit for the post is 28 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation of SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically handicapped candidates as per Govt. of India rules
