4. Place of posting : Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, Kodaikanal (Tamil Nadu)

5. Qualification:

(a) Essential: Diploma in Electronics Engineering (OR) Electronics & Communication Engineering (3 Year Full time) with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from Central/State Government/ AICTE recognized institute.

b) Desirable: Certificate course in design, soldering & testing of PCBs.

6. Experience:

a) Essential: Minimum three (3) years of work experience in electronics hardware related to computers & networking (with two years of continuous work experience in the same company).

b) Desirable: Handling Test & Measurement equipment, analog & digital electronic circuits.

7. Job description: To work with the computer hardware & networking, analog/digital electronics circuits in the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory.

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics is a premier institute devoted to research in astronomy, astrophysics and related physics. It traces its origins back to an observatory set up in 1786 at Madras which from the year 1792 began to formally function at its Nungambakkam premises as the Madras Observatory. In 1899, the observatory moved to Kodaikanal. In the year 1971, the Kodaikanal Observatory became an autonomous society, the Indian Institute of Astrophysics.
