Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) invites application for the position Junior Technician
Temporary Position: Junior Technician – 2
Essential Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 65% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University / Institute.
Project Title: National facility for Accelerated Testing of Pavements and Vehicle Dynamics (NATPaVeD)
Consolidated Monthly Salary: Rs. 20,000 per month
Department/Centre: Civil & Environmental Engineering; Mechanical Engineering
Tenure of Assignment: 1 year, extendable to another 1 year subject to satisfactory performance
Desired Skills:
a) Civil Engineering: Exposure to interdisciplinary fields of civil and mechanical engineering encompassing laboratory and field-testing experience in pavement materials, soil-subgrade testing and evaluation, operation and handling of equipment, engineering drawing, computer-aided design and drafting (AutoCAD),bookkeeping, accounting, construction planning and project management.
b) Mechanical Engineering: Exposure to interdisciplinary fields of civil and mechanical engineering encompassing experience in designing of machines, material characterization, handling data acquisition instruments, sensors workshop related duties such as fabrication processes, cutting and welding, engineering drawing, computer-aided design and drafting (CAD),planning and project management. In addition to the above, the following skills are also preferred. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be willing to work efficiently in a team environment, selfmotivated, and work under a variety of challenging conditions. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate highest work ethics.
Nature of the Work:
a) Civil Engineering: The project includes monitoring of infrastructure construction, conducting field and laboratory experiments on a variety of engineering materials and paving mixtures, equipment handling and testing, computer aided engineering drawing and design.
b) Mechanical Engineering: The project includes design and analysis of mechanical components/systems in the facility, computer aided design and drawing for fabricating, cutting, and welding of metals and other materials in workshops, field and laboratory experiments with a variety of machines and vehicles.
