Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
Conducting research on identification, structure, growth, dissemination and classification of fungi
Evolving methods to apply findings in fields of agriculture medicine and industry.
Obtaining specimens of fungi and preparing cultures in selected media.
Conducting microscopic observations of specimens under laboratory conditions to study their structure, growth and multiplication.
Identifying and classifying the chosen specimen.
Studying the relationship between fungi and other plants and animals.
Evolving the techniques of control of fungi by chemical and other methods. Extracting, analyzing and testing the use of by-products of fungus activity.
Evolving new strains of fungi for similar studies.
Conducting experiments for medical and industrial application of the by-products.
Specializing and conducting research and development in fields of antibiotics, preservation of stores, etc.
Finding improved methods of propagating and growing edible fungi.
Desired Qualification & Skills:
Skilled at identification, structure, growth, dissemination and classification of fungi
Proficient in finding the techniques that can be brought in use to control fungi by chemicals
Skilled in obtaining specimen of fungi
Proficient in preparing cultures of fungi in the selected media
Knowledge of plant and animal organisms, their tissues, cells, functions, interdependencies, and interactions with each other and the environment
Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture , Bio Technology, or related field
Good verbal & written communication skills
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team.
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
