Job Description

  • Contract Specialist/Manager: 4-5 Years Exp
  • The position is a highly individual contributor position the Legal department. 
  • In this role your prime responsibility will be vetting, reviewing, negotiating and drafting contracts. 
  • You will be responsible for driving contract closures ensuring compliance with all internal policies and guidelines.
  • The primary result expectation from this position is to handle drafting, negotiation and execution of contracts. 
  • The core responsibility of being a contract Manager shall result in significantly improving the productivity, effectiveness, and quality of contracts. 
  • In this position you are expected to increase the engagement level with internal stakeholders and other external/other Parties party to a contract ensuring contracts are drafted and executed within reasonable TAT. 
  • You are expected to know the best legal and business positions for the client and negotiate the procurement/sales contracts with vendors as well as internally with stakeholders. 
  • In this role you are also expected to manage contracts as well as red line, review and keep the favorable positions in the contracts; thereby, ensuring your client's risk exposure is close to none. 
  • In this role, you are expected to sign-off new contracts as well as improve the performance of the existing contracts. 
  • Knowledge of financial institutions industry will be an added advantage.

Competencies & Skills:
  • Experience negotiating contracts with other lawyers
  • Ability to mitigate significant business, financial, and legal risks as well as being strongly versed in confidentiality obligations, warranties, liabilities, termination clauses, breaches and remedies
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers
  • Ability to navigate complex sign-off process for non-standard contract clauses
  • Knowledge of procurement/contract management tool
  • Excellent written communication skills
