Key Responsibilities:
Line Installation: Install and maintain overhead electrical distribution and transmission lines, including poles, crossarms, insulators, conductors, and transformers.
Climbing: Safely climb utility poles and towers using specialized equipment to access overhead lines for installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as bucket trucks, line trucks, and hand tools to perform tasks at elevated heights.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for oneself and the team.
Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on overhead lines to identify and address potential issues before they lead to power outages or safety hazards.
Repair: Respond to outages or damages caused by storms, accidents, or equipment failures, and quickly and efficiently repair or replace damaged components.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical issues on overhead lines, identify the root causes, and implement effective solutions to restore power.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as downed power lines, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and restore service.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Collaboration: Work closely with other linemen, supervisors, and support staff to coordinate and execute tasks efficiently.
