2. Qualification and Experience: BBA/B.COM in Logistics Management/Supply Chain Management. Masters in Logistics Management/Supply Chain Management. (OR) Masters with Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Purchase/Import – Export is desirable.

3. Experience: Minimum 7-10 Years of Experience in Logistics/Supply Chain/Customs Clearance/Purchase.

4. Pay Range: Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- PM

5. Applications are invited for the temporary post of Manager-Purchase/Logistics at IC&SR, IIT Madras.

6. Duration: Initially for one year, extendable based on performance

7. Summary: Senior Logistics Manager with a strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain and customs clearance. A solutions-oriented person who can formulate and drive a consistent approach towards all purchasing and tendering activities to ensure all purchasing activities support and strengthen the strategic objectivities of the organization, IIT Madras.

8. Skills:  Effective People Management, Ability to understand the purchase process, Logistics/Supply chain/Customs clearance knowledge, Critical thinking, Good with Project Management, Time Management, Active Listening and Learning.

9. Description: Executing, directing, and coordinating purchasing activities for all departments of IIT Madras. Providing guidance to Professors on the Purchase Process & Logistics and ensuring these orders are placed in compliance with central government & institutions policies. Ensuring that all goods and services purchased comply with the organization’s policies.

10. Manage purchase requisitions and orders. Preparing purchase orders. Responding to internal and external supplier enquiries. Approving bills of payments. Monitoring returns, damage replacement and warranty claims. Liasioning with Govt agencies for approval process and to ensure quick turnaround and release of PO as per the stipulated time. Co-ordination with Logistic Service Provider to ensure goods are moved and cleared within stipulated Transit time
