Role Objective

This position is responsible for ensuring nominated vessels are operated and maintained in line with Statutory Instruments, Company Policy, Safety Management System, Industry Best Practice and Vessel Owners Requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Provides support to Technical Superintendents, nominated vessels and other members of the Fleet Cell with respect to all Marine-related Safety, Compliance and Operational issues
Acts as Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer for nominated vessels as required
Reviews the ship inspection reports to ensure the Company Safety and Quality Management System are properly implemented on board
Supports Technical Superintendents as Clients or Owners point of contact ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction are maintained
Provides directions, coaching, guidance, mentoring and evaluations of senior sea staffs to ensure that all operations are carried out safely and successfully whilst also enabling senior sea staff with their individual career progress and development
Monitors and maintains a thorough knowledge of current Marine Superintendents Work Instructions which may be subject to review and revision from time to time

Key Competencies & Qualification

Good knowledge of Marine Regulations, Industry Statutory Instruments, ISM, ISO and ISPS system, safe & Efficient Shipboard Operations
Deck Officer Qualification with First Class Master Mariner License
Minimum of two years sailing experiences in a senior position on board
Ability to demonstrate Safety and Compliance based approach to Marine Operations
Ability to communicate at good level in both spoken and written English
Ability to provide effective delegation, guidance, and good leadership skills
Ability to demonstrate a good standard of computer literacy
