Marketing &Communications Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Develop positioning and related communications programs that elevate Ciena s reputation in India and drive company messaging with target external audiences (customers, government entities, industry bodies, partners, etc.)
Identify and scope opportunities, timing and vehicles for communicating messages and key positioning into the market; identify and oversee messaging customization for audience segments as needed
Identify key trends and topics and build high-level, localized messaging and stories to be shared externally via multiple vehicles (speeches, social media posts and blogs, advertorials, etc.)
Partner with Chairman of Ciena India to raise his profile and expand exposure in the India market
Includes building topical narratives/storyboards and associated content (speeches, social media posts, etc.)
Work with India PR lead to drive and develop content for earned media activities, including bylined articles, press releases, case studies, which are directly linked to the regional strategy
Includes working with local PR agency to identify opportunities
Includes helping prepare Ciena India spokespeople for press interviews and facilitating media engagements
Work with the Global Social Media team, identify opportunities to leverage Ciena s social media channels to generate additional engagement with our India stakeholders, and further build awareness of our presence and success in India
Provide direction on the development of region-specific campaign and digital/web content, including:
adapting global content for re-purpose in India market
Field Marketing & Programs/Campaigns that leverage strategic products launches, PR, Digital, etc.

Skills :
Proven interpersonal skills with a track record of achieving results through alignment of cross-functional and multi-divisional activities in a highly collaborative, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment
Strong project management, organization, planning and implementation skills for multiple deadline driven activities
Ability and confidence to work in a virtual team, across cultures
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Broad marketing experience and proven track record with experience in using social, digital, and traditional marketing principles, techniques and tools
Highly organized and motivated
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Education/Experience
Marketing degree or similar
Significant work experience in Marketing and Communications, with key focus on external/executive communications & message development
