Butterfly Ayurveda was founded by Akshi Khandelwal Bhutani. She graduated in Economics Honours from Hansraj College, Delhi University in 2006, and did her Masters in International and Development Economics from Yale University, U.S.A. in 2008.
Her journey into Ayurveda began in 2012, when she discovered a book called ‘Prakriti’by Dr. Robert Svoboda. She connected with the book deeply and was strongly affected by its content. She took to Ayurveda instantly since it gave her a deeper understanding of the body and the mind. It also reinforced her belief that self-knowledge is the greatest knowledge!
Akshi familiarised herself with Ayurveda and its ways, and read Ayurvedic texts that strengthened her understanding of the subject. She also interacted rigorously with her R&D team and came up with ways to seamlessly assimilate Ayurveda into the lives of those living in Indian cities through a range of healthy products.
In 2013, she started to put together ideas and efforts to start a research unit dedicated to Ayurvedic products for daily life. In 2014, Butterfly Ayurveda was established on paper. In 2019, she launched BA Bakery, Ayurveda inspired baking and became one of nineteen women entrepreneurs chosen from across the globe to participate in the US Fortune Mentoring Partnership Program that helped enhance her entrepreneurial skills and expertise.

Ltd. blends the wisdom of Ayurvedic knowledge and the use of modern technology to give people a range of Ayurvedic products that include medicines, herbal teas, infusions, cookies and Ayurveda-inspired cakes. It seamlessly blends traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern technology.

In a nutshell, its activity and approach could be termed as, “Validation of Divine Ayurvedic Wisdom through Scientific Knowledge in the Current Era.”
