Responsibilities

The role requires a hands-on technologist with experience in Big data, Hadoop, databases, MDM. As data engineering practitioner, you should have an understanding of build vs. buy, performance considerations, hosting, business intelligence, reporting & analytics.

Experience within the field of data engineering.
Critical skills for this role are hive, Scala, hosting, sql database, java, Hadoop, big data, python.
Familiar with data architecture including data ingestion
Experience in configuring, maintaining production and development Hadoop Clusters
Experience in creating Hive tables, loading with data and writing Hive queries
Experienced in computation frameworks like Spark, Storm, Flink using Java/Python/Scala.
Well versed with streaming data processing using Kafka, Spark Streaming, Storm etc.
Well versed with pros and cons of various database technologies like Relational, NO SQL, Columnar databases.
Experienced in multi-dimensional modelling like start schema, snowflakes, normalized and denormalized models.

Preferred Qualifications

Passion for building scalable, global, complex systems to solve problems with proven ability to deliver high quality software.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and concepts.
3-5 years of industry experience
Strong analytical thinker who knows how to pick the right tool for the job
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including Agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and operations.
